Role and Responsibilities

Aiforia's cloud-based solutions and services for image analysis and pathology applications cater to all therapy areas. Global pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations can unbind their image analysis workflows, scientists, and pathologists from time-consuming tasks, subjective results, hardware-heavy technology, and inefficient processes with Aiforia's artificial intelligence and cloud technology. In our Custom AI Services, Aiforia scientists train deep learning AI models to automate any image analysis application in pathology for our customers. 

Aiforia is looking for Veterinary Pathologists to join our growing Science Team. In this position they will support Aiforia’s Custom AI Services with their pathology expertise in Aiforia’s preclinical, toxicology, and academic customer projects. The successful candidates enjoy working in fast-paced, collaborative and innovative environments. 

We are looking for several new pathologists to join our team in Europe, full remote work (either full- or part-time) is a possibility.


  • Providing pathology expertise in preclinical, toxicology and medical research customer projects
  • Designing, annotating, training and validating deep learning AI models 
  • Supporting cross-disciplinary project teams and ensuring the timely and successful completion of projects to the customers’ satisfaction
  • Contributing to project reporting and writing of publications if needed
  • Maintaining project documentation according to Aiforia’s Quality Management System (QMS) guidelines
  • Maintaining continuous professional development, sharing knowledge and mentoring others
  • Acquiring and maintaining in-depth knowledge of Aiforia products and technologies, the competitive landscape, and industry trends
  • Cross-functional collaboration with marketing, sales, software development, UI/UX design and customer support teams
  • Participating in ideation of new products, features and on improving existing ones


  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) or equivalent veterinary medical degree
  • American or European College of Veterinary Pathologists (Anatomic) board certification, or equivalent national specialization or eligibility
  • 3+ years of experience in anatomical pathology
  • Strong interest in digital pathology and computer-assisted image analysis tools
  • Excellent communication, teamwork, and project management skills
  • Fluent written and oral English skills are a must

In addition, any experience in the following areas will also be beneficial:

  • PhD in veterinary medicine or closely related field
  • Teaching, customer service or other customer-facing roles
  • Prior knowledge of digital pathology or medical imaging software applications
  • Experience in toxicologic or investigative pathology from a Contract Research Organization or from the pharmaceutical industry
  • Prior knowledge of agile project management tools
